We had a couple of classes this past Saturday that went really well.  The first one was a snowflake class given by Deb Tilton.  She had five students and they had a lot of fun.  We had one of the ladies call on Monday asking for measurements for making the snowflake smaller.  Heather asked her how many snowflakes she had made and she said “you don’t want to know.”  I think she’s addicted.

It now looks like its snowing in the shop as we have snowflakes hanging all over.

The other class we had were for some ball ornaments.  Heather taught this class and she had four students.  They had a lot of fun making them and they turned out beautifully.

This ornament is made with a 3 inch styrofoam ball but we had a customer also make them with a 5 inch sytrofoam ball and they turned out beautifully too.

We have lots of stocking stuffer items for the quilter on your list and don’t forget gift certificates are a sure bet for those hard to buy for.

PMS Saturday is this Saturday (potluck, munchies and sewing).  Bring a dish to pass and your sewing projects and sew with us from 9 a.m. to midnight.

AND, fat quarter frenzy is next Friday, December 23.  Buy 3 fat quarters and get the fourth one free.

Just a reminder that we will be closed December 24 and 25 and December 31 and January 1.  We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I sure hope this blog finds you doing well and done with your Christmas shopping, everything wrapped and the house decorated.  NO?  Well, join the club.  It always seems to come together by Christmas though so keep your head up.  We figure by the time we get the decorations done in the shop Christmas will be over.

I finished the cancer quilt I made for a cousin for her Relay For Life team to raffle off.  It turned out beautifully and has such a positive message.  If you would like to make one for someone you know we have the panels available in the shop; just give us a call.

Well, back to blogging. I hope this finds everyone well and ready for Christmas. We have been busy here at the shop making star and Christmas ball ornaments. We will be having classes next Saturday, December 10 for these two items. Check our newsletter for more details. Neither one of them require a sewing machine unless you make your own bias for the “ribbon” on the ball ornament. They are so beautiful and easy to make. We hope you can join us.

We will be having a concert here at the shop. It will feature the Fichter Family Singers and Chris and Kristen Barnhill. It will be a beautiful evening with some fun and inspirational Christmas music. The concert will be December 19 at 6:30. A freewill offering will be collected.

Also in our newsletter check out the information on the Edyta Sitar Fan Club. This will meet every second Tuesday of the month. We will be doing lots of fun things including strip and half square triangle exchanges and making projects from her books and patterns. We also have a few things up our sleeve that I know you won’t want to miss.

Don’t forget we have GIFT CERTICIATES for that hard to buy for person on your list and if you need stocking stuffers stop in and check out what we have. A new lotion has arrived that is absolutely wonderful.

Just a reminder that you can come sew with us Tuesday and Wednesday until 9 p.m. (We will be closing early Tuesday December 13). We will have our PMS Saturday December 17 to give you time to finish up on those last minute Christmas gifts. Bring a dish to pass and your sewing projects and sew from 9 a.m. to midnight.

Here are a couple other things to put on your list.
Our retreat will be March 9, 10 and 11 at Camp Ao-Wa-Kiya on beautiful Stony Lake. $95.00 for the weekend includes your room and meals. A $25.00 nonrefundable deposit will hold your spot and space is limited.

ONE STOP SHOP HOP will be held April 11 and 12. It will again be at Wink Arena at Ferris State University. We hope to see you there. Lots of shops under one roof.

We will be participating in a new shop hop. It will run April, May and June with 16 shops involved so you will have all that time to visit them all. A different project at each shop. Stay tuned for further details and information about when the passports will go on sale.

Well happy sewing and I will talk with you soon.

Things have sure been busy around here.  I wasn’t on for a while because someone decided to infect our website with malware so now that that is fixed we are back in business.  I will be VERY selective as to what comments are posted to my posts to prevent that from happening again.

I hope this post finds you all doing great and getting lots of sewing done.  The sun is shining today but still not warm.  I hope the holiday weekend is warm and fun for everyone.

We have been busy here getting our quilts done for my new granddaughter and Heather’s niece, Isabella.  She hasn’t decided to grace us with her presence yet but it should be any day now.  I predict tomorrow but we will have to wait and see.

Heather did an Amy Bradley pattern of turtles.  This is so when daddy takes Isabella out he has a quilt that isn’t so frilly.  Mike was on a submarine in the Navy so of course the quilt has a yellow submarine on it.

Then, so momma has something to take Isabella out in I made the Ballerina quilt by Amy Bradley.  Of course, it turned out so big it will fit a twin bed and I think they hung it on the wall in her room.

I sure hope Isabella likes them when she gets older – I think she will.

This week we have had some customers in showing off their quilts they made with fabric bought here.  First of all we have Gloria who did a horse quilt.  It turned out really nice and I love the striped sashing she put on it.

Then, while Gloria was still here Margaret brought in her black and red quilt she is making for her grandson.  This was made with fabrics bought here in the store and she did a beautiful job.

Today Pam brought in her wall hanging she did from the Fresh off the Farm book.  She also made the tote bag which was awesome so now I guess have to make a couple of them for me and Heather.  I always like it when Pam comes in with her finished quilts.  She does such beautiful work.

It is so exciting when customers bring in their finished products.  Keep up the good work.

Well, I am signing off for now.  Happy Sewing.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.  We hope you have a wonderful day.  Here in New Era it is sunny and a beautiful day to relax and let others wait on you for a change.  Well, okay, at least try.

Heather made a quilt again this year for the Reading Celebration for Reeths Puffer School/McMillian Elementary.  Last year she made one and Bryan’s (Heather’s son) friend won it.  This year his best friend, Garrett won the quilt and he really loved it.

It looks like he is all ready to snuggle under it with a good book.

Fabric has been arriving again.  We got some more batiks and other beautiful fabrics.  Hope to see you soon so you can check them out.

Well, happy sewing for now.
